I love self experimentation. Â That is really what I have been doing the last 4 years now. Sometimes you just stumble across something by accident. Here’s one of those stories & revelations.
One of our most challenging workouts has been on Tuesday nights. Â I usually spend the whole day making sure what I eat is going to help me not only get through this workout, but also to preform my best so I can take advantage of the workout and get the most out of it.
Over the years, we have had many different types of meals before those Tuesday night workouts. And, we can always tell about halfway through class whether that meal gives us energy or weighs us down. One of the pre-workout meals that makes us feel really good and help us perform very well during our workout is a simple arugula salad. It was a simple recipe and we questioned whether a salad would be enough food to help us power through our workout. But, this salad made us feel amazing. We nicknamed it the “Arugula Power Salad”. Â We never really did much research on why it made us feel good. We just knew it did.
We naturally gravitated to this meal on a regular basis on Tuesday nights, to the point that our girls knew that we had workoutÂ becauseÂ we were having this special salad.
